  4. Eventually battery life will out distance fuel capacity! Only the oil mongers will delay this advance.

  6. Until they run out of battery.

  8. Another reason why Lexus is in my opinion superior to that of a BMW or Merc. Lexus has developed a state-of-the-art hybrid platform for many of it’s vehicles which I beleive is the way of the future. Companies like BMW spend far too much time & energy trying to make these engines that go incredibly fast but are not efficient at all. I think that’s a bad move. In the future, people are going to want cars that are cheap & easy to maintain, not cars that are just ridiculously fast yet inefficient.

  10. Well… whatever.

I’m switching to electric anyway. Electronic autos are quicker, more reliable, and cheaper!

I no longer want to be an oil slave…

    See you on the track!

  12. Yeah well I drive a hell of a lot too so I got lots of experience & I only see domestic cars on the side of the road! The best American car out right now is a fully loaded top of the line Cadillac & their best model is not as good as the new Jaguar XJ fully loaded which is the best Jaguar model out right now.

  14. I drive 24000 KM a month and everyday I see cars on the side of the road waiting for the tow truck. I have yet to see a Cadillac!

Last month however, I did see a Jag on the 405 in Washington state!

Half the cars I see stranded are foreign imports. Since there are more domestic cars then foreign, this doesn’t says very much for them.

Jags, Mercedes, Lexus, etc, are overrated. A better part of the price for these cars are for the logo. And unlike you, I am speaking from experience.

  16. No American car can compete with a Jaguar, any company can easily make an engine faster than that of the CT-S, but the only reason Cadillac made the CT-S faster than all it’s competition is because it has nothing else to offer. Making a car fast is the easy part, the real good cars out there are the reliable ones that last a long time with little breakdowns which Cadiilacs cannot do.

  18. When I went to the dealership I sat in one that was already sold. it was black. they must of used an old rag when they polished it because there was swirly scratches all over the car.

I told the salesman that if it was my car I would cancel the deal. he just shrugged his shoulders.

Not much for customer service at this place…

Anyway, I finally made up my mind!

I’m ordering a Camaro SS with the rally sport & ground effects package; red jewel tint coat.

    old habits die hard

  20. I buy a saloon car because it’s the one I want.

I’m sorry, but there’s gonna be another XF on the road that’s more efficient than a 535D, better looking than an A6, and has a better interior than an E-Class, and that’s the XF. I’m sorry, it’s the truth.

  21. puffrooster on Mon, 11th Jan 2010 7:24 am
  22. Let me know when you buy yours, Luke?

I don’t know what you do for a living but I would have to work almost a full year before I could afford a car that costs that much!

Most of us can’t buy a saloon just because we are fans of that particular brand. We have to be selective.

  24. All depends which model you choose. When I sat in it, it felt far better than the competition.

Also, as James May from Top Gear says about the C63: “This Mercede’s is quite ghastly, it’s all glitsy and glittery”.

Also, you can’t compare the C-Class to the XF because it isn’t in the same class.

And you can’t compare it to the god awful new E-class. That thing looks Japanese all over.

Well, you may not like the XF, tough luck. I’d still take it over a 20 year old Ford.

  26. I went to the dealership last Friday and sat inside and checked it out. Its nice but it is not worth $95000 and the material doesn’t feel any worse or better than my police car. I wasn’t impressed. Also, I don’t know the secret handshake of the free masons which explains the customer service.

The Mercedes C63 AMG is $20000 cheaper and faster and the Cadillac CTS V is even faster than the Mercedes.

I have narrowed my selection down and Jaguar (pronounced JAHG – WIRE) is no longer a contender.

  28. It actually has 420HP. The new one has a 5.0 V8 un supercharged producing 385HP, and Supercharged producing 510HP.

  29. LukeXgamer on Wed, 20th Jan 2010 3:06 am
  30. Jesus, if it can keep up with the XF, it can keep up with all Saloons. And the only real reason it’s cheaper is because:

It’s got a **** interior. Plasticy, and crap.
It has **** American wooden steering and handling.
It has crap styling. And is a Police car, in some areas.

I don’t want to drive around in a Crown Victoria abomination.

  31. puffrooster on Wed, 20th Jan 2010 8:49 am
  32. It contains the Vette pushrod V8 (5.3 L). This produces 303hp @ 5600rpm & 323 ft.-lbs 4400rpm.

The XF has a 4.2 L supercharged V8 which produces 300 hp. Lots of V6 engines can do that AND without the aid of a charger.

The techno steel trim in the Jag is identical to the trim in the Impala as is the dash & layout.

But don’t take my word for it, go look for yourself. And to add insult to injury, the XF is $92K cdn!

Conclusion, the XF is nothing more than a Volvo in a ****** dress.

  33. LukeXgamer on Wed, 20th Jan 2010 10:13 pm
  34. Yeah but, your Impala is an ugly pile of American junk, with fixed steering and wooden suspension. And a 6 LITRE V8 developing 105 HP.

  36. im sorry but i love my life
ok this is true but you can die

  38. You can read! But you obviously missed the point.

My Impala can outrun the Jag XF and it shouldn’t be able to do that!

English and European cars are overrated and way overpriced. That is my point. For what they want for a Jag, it should our run a domestic front wheel drive sedan by at least one second! At least….

  39. Ratbeeitch on Tue, 26th Jan 2010 3:01 am
  40. This guy is actually comparing a Chevy, a Chevy to the jags, and an Impala at that. LOL, typical.

lol that was the best part
haha i fucking love you my brother haha

  44. My Chev Impala SS does zero to sixty and quarter mile better than the new Jag-yoo-are XF and for twenty five K less! Plus, in north America, everyone can afford to drive and we have room to do it… unlike Eng-ah-land.

  45. idonlikeveg on Fri, 29th Jan 2010 6:44 pm
  46. what is a ‘jag-oo-waar’?
ahh you must mean Jaguar (jag-yoo-are)
i think i should know my dad has 2 (etype and xj-s) and i have one (XJ-S) and the british ones are better because they have little or no emissions equipment so have more power.

and i totally agree that American cars have no concept of corners or that weird substance called metal for the bodywork.
the only car i can think of from america that looks even remotely good is the Ford GT.
